Training Log: Entry 173

Overhydrated myself.  Sodium deficiency.  Was dizzy all day.  Skipped sparring class.  Sucks, it was my last one with that one guy who kicks my ass.  Throwdown on the 14th.  New folks.  Hope this training works well there.

Notes: Partner was awful.  Liked to punch himself out in the first 10 seconds of the drill.  Drooled all over the medicine ball during his turn.  No feedback on punching drills.  Awful cardio.  Must avoid him in future.

Training Log: Entry 169

Attended two boxing classes today.  Way too much to write
down.  The first one was more focused on bagwork, while the second
one more on movement and conditioning.

My conditioning is peaking.  I come away from boxing class
rested.  This is good from a fighting standpoint and bad from a
fat burning standpoint.  Should kick ass at the throwdown when it
comes to standup.

Was able to outcondition my entire class.  My coach assigned me
extra work to help me in the ring.  He seems to like me.
Can't remember my name though.

Must remember to keep chin down when slipping.

Training Log: Entry 168

Did both sparring and boxing class tonight.

Sparring.  4 rounds, two opponents.  1 round with first opponent, 3 rounds with second.

1st: Opponent was shorter than me.  He had a predictable head
pattern.  I learned and followed it.  He liked to duck down
and bend over a lot, so I hit him with a lot of uppercuts.  Stuck
him with the jab and followed up with the cross.  Hit some basic 3
hit combos.  He didn't get too much on me.  He was tired
though.  Basically just bullied him around the ring.

Next 3 rounds:
Same opponent as last time.  It was more of the same, except I
managed to get in a few shots.  Not much.  Still nerfed by
his reach.  Need to work my circular movement.  Managed to
stay on my toes a lot, and even slipped a few punches.  That's a
first for me.  Defense slowly improving, now need offense against
reach.

Boxing class:
Warm-up
Shadowbox
Grab weights
25 straight punches, slip, repeat 3 times
40 uppercuts
25 head punches
25 punches straight up

On the bag
Step and jab
1-2-3-slip-2
Freestyle 1 minute
Some PT
Freestyle 1 minute
Some PT
Freestyle for 2 minutes
Jump Squats
Grab an elastic band
100 jabs, 100 crosses
Straight punch burnout
Some stepping work on elastic balls mixed with sprint to bags and 40 burnout punches
Intense abwork

Helluva workout.  Need food.

With some sprints thrown in.  I was the fastest sprinter in my class.  I lapped everyone.

After class, my coach came up to me and said "You're an animal!  I
see you here all the time!"  He asked me about what classes I was
attending, and how I liked them.  Seems I'm making an impression.

My body is changing.  Much more definition.  Haven't lost too much size.
