Training Log: Entry 168

Did both sparring and boxing class tonight.

Sparring.  4 rounds, two opponents.  1 round with first opponent, 3 rounds with second.

1st: Opponent was shorter than me.  He had a predictable head
pattern.  I learned and followed it.  He liked to duck down
and bend over a lot, so I hit him with a lot of uppercuts.  Stuck
him with the jab and followed up with the cross.  Hit some basic 3
hit combos.  He didn't get too much on me.  He was tired
though.  Basically just bullied him around the ring.

Next 3 rounds:
Same opponent as last time.  It was more of the same, except I
managed to get in a few shots.  Not much.  Still nerfed by
his reach.  Need to work my circular movement.  Managed to
stay on my toes a lot, and even slipped a few punches.  That's a
first for me.  Defense slowly improving, now need offense against
reach.

Boxing class:

25 straight punches, slip, repeat 3 times

Helluva workout.  Need food.

  1. does sound like a pretty comprehensive workout. Continuing to get the most out of your winter break, thats good. Keep us informed of when you finally beat up the guy who has the reach advantage on you. It sounds like your getting closer and closer. Keep it up and just remember to take care of yourself and not get injurred.
