Training Log: Entry 562

ME lower day

Deadlifts
135x3
225x3
315x3
405x1
475x1
540x1
550x0

Notes: Weight was feeling heavy today.  It was time to rest.  Got too greedy.   Can't be a hero all the time.    Lockout strength is weak, back is rounding too much, and have no leg drive.  Need to add deadlifts from a deficit.  Working on the lockout strength with reverse band deadlifts.

  4. I was about to comment about the leg drive when I saw that you already noted it. Are you planning on starting lower? I know the tendency is usually to go *too* low and to almost squat it up, but to me, it looks like the height of your glutes are forcing your back to take everything.

  5. Yeah, I figure the deadlifts from a deficit are going to be a big contributer towards working on my leg drive.  I have a stronger PC than my quads, and have been over compensating.  I used to "front squat" the deadlift, and it might be good to get back into that habit, haha.
