Training Log: Entry 2122

Treadmill
Running 30 minutes, 8mph
Incline 2.5

Notes: Got a bad shin splint in the left shin, but amazingly the treadmill doesn't aggravate it.  This was actually the best run I've ever had in a long time.  No fatigue, time passed quickly.

Woke up at 195.4.

  1. Do you notice a difference between running outside vs the treadmill for your knee, since the treadmill pulls your feet back for you? That's actually a lot faster than I thought you'd be going, too. I've probably been underestimating your capacity as of late, you sound like you can do most things but go stupidly heavy on it.

    1. What you're describing is EXACTLY what I noticed when I went for my first outdoor run. On the treadmill, my left leg moves well in stride with my right, but on pavement it felt like my left leg kept getting stuck. It took a few steps to get over it.

I'm actually limiting my speed just because I was noticing that the knee was getting a little achy. I'm keeping it like this and working up higher on the inclines. That said, yeah, I'm pretty much back to normal capability, just not capacity. I just got back from the PT and was told I was cleared to start training again (lightly of course) and that I was done with physical therapy, so exciting times now.
